Rated 5 out of 5 by BBBBPPP from Major upgrade Bought this to replace an older framed door with gaskets that had deteriorated. The Dreamline Elegance is a heavy, thick door and a two-person job to install. I recommend performing the "optional" step in the installation instructions of screwing the bottom pivot base directly into the threshold, rather than relying on the standard pressure screw. We found that by using only the pressure screw, the door shifted slightly out of alignment when opening. This required removal and re-instalation after screwing the pivot base directly into the threshold. However, the end result was well worth it. Door looks great and is a big improvement over the one it replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MikeRock from Well built , solid , and beautiful Installed this in my brand new bathroom , the door looks amazing. Perfect final touch, thick glass . The side channels makes out of plumb walls very forgiving, which mine were about 1/8” off despite being newly constructed , but no problem with this door. It did take a while for me to install , but I took my time and did not rush. One tip of advice, the instructions say install hinges first on glass/ profile channel, then put glass door on hinges, which was very heavy and awkward. I think the hinges should be put on the door first, then install as one whole assembly to the glass profile channel.

My plumber installed this and afterwards said it was one of the best shower doors he had ever installed. Plus the price is great. The door is substantial so I am careful about just allowing gravity to have the door "slam" when it closes. It can be slightly difficult to grab the door from the inside to close when you are getting into the shower but this is very minor. The door and enclosure also cleans up very nicely. When I look to remodel my other bathroom DreamLine will be my first choice.

My wife and I, finished the installation in less then 2 1/2 hours. If you happen to have a problem with installation, customer service is only a call away, and accessible. Not only are they accessible, buy they don't outsource their customer care, so you will be taking to someone that has knowledge of what needs to be done. Rather then, someone being prompted by a scripted response. I would recommend this product to any of my friends or family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by homer1b from GREAT PRODUCT AND SERVICE Not sure if this is the same model, but in the spring of this year I installed a similar Dreamline shower door with a width range of 34' to 35" and want to make some follow up comments.Bought the door through Amazon and when the door came the packaging was a terrible mess. Must have been in a warehouse and moved around for a long time. Took a chance and the parts were all there. However, while installing I discovered that one of the screws in the hinge assembly was stripped and could not be removed prior to installing. Called Dreamline and apparently being out of production at the time, they immediately manufactured and sent a whole new post assembly. Have had the door for several months now and would without a doubt go back to Dreamline immediately for any additional products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dyier from Good Customer Service Immediate response and correction to a product problem.Had a scratch on the chrome shower door handle.Called and spoke with a CSA. Sent in a picture of said scratch. Received follow up response from CSA stating a new handle was sent All of this occurred beyond the warranty period on inspection of delivery. I didn’t notice scratch on handle because it is one of the final steps of installation process, which occurred on a few days after delivery.

I purchased the door sight unseen hoping it would work out..Well,it did.My brother, who I helped with the install,has installed many other models of shower doors, and he said as soon as we unboxed it,he knew it was a quality door,and looks like a custom door,especially at the price I paid.It was easy to install also.I get nothing but compliments on how nice it looks.I also have the Dreamline shower base to go along with the door.I'm very pleased.

Are the Elegance LS hinges spring loaded to provide tension to keep the door closed since there is no magnetic strip to seal the door?
Yes - there is spring tension within the pivots to keep the door tight against the vinyl seal. The springs in the pivots for the Elegance-LS are also what make the door self-closing. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

I have a finished opening of 30" at the threshold and 30 3/8" at 72 inches above the threshold. Would you recommend the 29 1/4 - 31 1/4 model or the 28 3/4 - 30 3/4 model and why.
Either size would work, but it would probably be best to go with the 29-1/4" - 31-1/4" model size. The smaller size has a maximum adjustment of 30-3/4", so in your opening, you would almost be at the maximum adjustment with that model size, so you would have more metal showing on the sides. The larger size will still give you the adjustment you need (up to 31-1/4") with plenty left over, so you would have less metal showing on the sides of the opening.

Elegance-LS SHDR-4328300 The opening for our alcove is 58 1/4". If the in-line panel is 30" and the Door Width is 24 1/4", where do we make up the extra 4"? Is the door 4" wider?
The wall jambs (wall profiles) on either side will account for the remainder of the space. There are some small spaces between the glass panels and between the door glass and the wall jamb that holds the pivot assembly as well, but these gaps will be covered with the provided vinyl strips.

The Dreamline photos for this door show aluminum panels on both sides of the door, with no fixed glass panel. But many customer photos show the aluminum, the door, and a fixed glass panel. For the 34-36" model, will there be a fixed glass panel? How wide?

If installed with a Right Door orientation, will the Shelves be lower to the ground instead of higher how the images show the Left Door orientation?

What is the difference between the Elegance and the Elegance LS shower door? The width I need is between 45 5/8 and 45 3/4".
For the model size you need, the main difference is the way the stationary glass is supported. The Elegance uses a set of glass shelves that support the stationary glass. The Elegance-LS has no glass shelves and uses an L-Bar support at the top of the stationary glass to support the stationary panel. The only other difference between these models is the handle design.
