SlimLine Single Threshold Shower Base is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 65.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected. This shower base worked as expected. No complaints from my installer. It does NOT flex when you stand on it and needed no additional support. It has a nice texture under your feet which also seems easy to clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for This base is not structural and relies heavily on the bed you set it in.You will not be able to set his base in regular cement of any kind or consisity. Make sure you use a Lightweight Bedding Mortar.Like: CustomFloat Bedding Mortar. Many use STRUCTO-LITE Basecoat Plaster. Dried product is 15% lighter than water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice base but touchy. The base looks nice and is really solid. You need to be careful since the edge around the bottom base is flat and if you don't get the base perfectly level you will get water accumulation along the lip. Also it can develop hair line cracks around the drain since you can't get good support under that area if you leave a small buffer around the drain pipe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dimensions are misleading. The specs state that the nominal width is the measurement from left to right. I took that to mean that if I am standing at the threshold where the shower door would be, the pan would be 36" across (left to right) and 42" deep. That is not the case. The pan is actually 42" across the threshold and 36" deep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Construction Question : "Benny" commented, "You DO NOT have to use Mortar/Plaster". Then why does the Dreamline "Installation Guide" show the "Cut-Away" View mentioning Mortar/Plaster ?? I nailed mine to the Studs and have moved on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shower Pan - DreamLine This product is very handsome and sturdy. It is very well reinforced underneath. My contractor said it was no trouble to install. We surrounded it with tile (floor to ceiling) and it looks lovely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like standing on wet blue ice Because I'm disabled, I needed to replace my tub with a safer, step-in shower. I chose this base because of its low threshold and advertised non-slip properties. However, the first time I used it, I almost fell through the glass shower doors. The base was like standing on wet blue ice. I only escaped serious injury by hauling myself out of the shower by my grad bars. Until I get a non-slip mat for the base, I'm wearing Crocs into the shower. Incredibly dangerous!

I need a 30" depth by 42-44" do you have a shower base?

Asked by: Rich1234
Unfortunately, no - we do not have any bases in the dimensions you are looking for and the closes thing we would have is going to be the 32x42" base, model # DLT-1132420. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

I am installing a slimline 36x60 single drain shower base. Do you recommend drilling out pilot holes in the flange to drive screws into wall studs, or do you secure the flange in a different way? - thanks

Asked by: Russell
Please do not fasten the tiling flanges to the studs when installing a SlimLine shower base. The SlimLine shower bases must be installed directly up against studs in a bed of sand-mix mortar. For our SlimLine shower base, you do not fasten the flanges to the studs at all. If you attempt to fasten the flanges to studs, you will void the warranty on the shower base and you risk cracking the base. Please just install the base in a sand-mix mortar bed directly up against studs as the installation manual instructs. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

I have purchased an Encore Shower Door & Base (DLT-1130602) and need to know if you have an installation video for the 30x60 base (Right Drain). How much Mortar will be needed for the base installation?

Asked by: FrankeeDee
Unfortunately, we do not currently have any installation videos for SlimLine shower bases. You should spread a mortar bed on your sub-floor that is approximately 1" thick towards the perimeter of the shower base's standing area (part where you would stand while showering). The mortar bed should be tapered down so that it is approximately 3/8" thick as you approach the drain. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

Encode 60" clearmax doors, which way should the labels face? Page 1 states label towards the inside of the shower, page 16 states label facing the inside of the shower.

Asked by: Bill50
There will be a small removable blue ClearMax sticker on each piece of glass and the side with the sticker on the glass is the side with the coating, so this side should face in towards the shower. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

Where do find the precise location of the drain on a base, especially the right ones? And is the depth always one inch less than half?

Asked by: TPMS
You will have to select the model size you want from the drop-down menu and once you have made your selection, scroll below the main product picture and click on the link to the technical drawings. Please note that for center drain locations, the drain will be centered across the width of the base, but not always necessarily centered on the depth of the base. Does Dreamline make a RIGHT DRAIN 36-in W x 42-in L Single Threshold Rectangle Shower Base?

Asked by: Jonel
Unfortunately, we do not make any 48" single threshold bases in any size that will have a right or left drain. All 48" single threshold SlimLine shower bases made by DreamLine will have a center drain location. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

Is this base ready to tile?

Asked by: stalance
DreamLine SlimLine acrylic shower bases cannot have any tile applied to the curbs or the standing area of the base. This is an acrylic base, not a tile-ready shower base. DreamLine does make shower bases that can be tiled and those are from our TilePrime shower base model series. Please do not attempt to tile over the acrylic shower base as doing this will destroy the base and completely void the warranty. DreamLine SlimLine shower bases get installed in a bed of mortar directly up against studs. Once the mortar cures, you will need to hang backer board up around the shower base. You can tile your walls, but not the shower base itself. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!
